For many new writers the hardest part is getting started.
Some authors find it helpful to tell themselves that they will only write for ten minutes. That puts them in the chair. The plan is to write at least 10 minutes each and every day. Once they begin– it is almost impossible to write for ONLY 10 minutes.

1. Print out a blank calendar page.
2. Each day write on the calendar how many minutes you have actually spent writing (not surfing the web . . . actually writing). Okay, one diversion: see #3 below.
3. Create a pen name for yourself.
